In 2024, the Vreden chapter of Interplast Germany e.V. contacted us with a request to upgrade the X-ray system at Kamuli Mission Hospital, Uganda. After several discussions with the chapter's managers and local staff, we worked together to find a solution that would accommodate the local spatial conditions and avoid major renovations. Ultimately, we decided on a stationary X-ray system with a 32 kW X-ray generator, an X-ray table with a floating tabletop, and a wall stand for chest examinations. This allows for both supine and standing X-ray images to be taken. The system was also equipped with a digital system from CANON (CXDI-402C wireless), which is connected to the X-ray generator via an interface, allowing the exposure values to be automatically transferred from the computer. To provide on-site caregivers with the greatest possible flexibility, we also opted for a portable, battery-operated X-ray unit. This unit TR 90/20 Battery, with its X-ray detector, can be used outside the X-ray room, and the portable laptop can be used for immediate examination and analysis. Combined with a hanging option for doors or hooks, for example, and radiation protection clothing, all components can be stored in the ATOMED ATXtreme backpack and easily transported. To ensure safety with "hands-free" imaging, a mobile stand for the portable X-ray unit was included, which can be easily disassembled and carried in a carrying bag. This makes X-rays easy to perform even outside the hospital.

In October 2025, two of our technicians installed the system at the hospital and trained the specialist staff on the new system. An installed remote maintenance tool ensures rapid remote support.
